Success is dependent on what you do when you lose

Disappointment is an inevitable part of life. Deep disappointment, like when you work incredibly hard for something, only to find it slip away from you. The kind of disappointment that cuts you to the soul and makes you feel like everything is lost.

Human nature would tell us to be outraged, to stay in the outrage a while. It might be pointed at them, the uncaring system that chews you up and spits you out. It might be pointed at yourself, kicking yourself for the tiny little flaws you should’ve seen. After all, winners win–and you weren’t one of them.

Maybe winners persevere. Maybe they won because they regrouped, learned, and tried a different approach. Maybe they stayed true to their vision and tweaked their approach to make the next success more likely.

If you do the right things, the wins will come. If they don’t come today, they’ll come tomorrow.

So don’t deny the hurt. It’s real. Dealing with it is an important part of moving through disappointment.

Don’t let it make you brittle and angry. Use it as fuel toward eventual success.

Everyone loses. The winners view the loss as experience, as an opportunity to learn. As a chance to find other ways to win.

He also hasn't quite mastered this whole Powerball thing, and still has a pesky addiction to food, clothing, and shelter, so he has to work, too. Blech.
