Until recently, I’ve been the official house blogger for the Florida Writers Association. That’s a really cool blog and you should go there and read it. But that blog is constrained to issues of interest to writers. While I dig writing and think FWA is an awesome organization with awesome people, there are other things I want to write about.
That brings me to this blog. It’s an eclectic blog, written as the inspiration occurs. And while most of my metawriting (writing about writing) will take place on the FWA blog, I want to write about fitness, sports, politics, God, and the general stuff of life. That’s what this blog is about.
Full disclosure: I’m a two-time Royal Palm Literary Awards finalist–not quite Susan Lucci territory, but I really want to win. I’m a Beachbody coach whose fitness journey started with a walk on a Sunday afternoon the weekend before Memorial Day in 2010. I eat way too much stuff that I shouldn’t. Although I’m politically eclectic, I lean conservative/libertarian. I like the Mets and Jets (pity me). I believe that God loves you even if you happen to sleep with someone of the same sex and he would like you (and me) what we can do to make the world a better place (and you can’t do that if you beat the hell out of yourself). And I think running 12 miles through obstacles like a dumpster full of ice water and a bunch of live electric wires is a hell of a way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
